Women Bodybuilding - The Earlier Yrs


Female bodybuilding has been around longer than you might think. According to competitive physical contests women bodybuilders have been competing since the 1960s. Several of the early contests included the Miss Americana and Miss Physique contests for female bodybuilders. Regrettably, the early competitions were more in line with beauty contests. Yet another big name female bodybuilding competitors was hosted in 19080. The Miss Olympia contest was won by another prominent female bodybuilder by the name of Rachel McLish. Even though McLish was not a longer competing in 1983, the sports activity found yet another impressive competitor in Carla Dunlap. Dunlap's impressive physical prominence raised the bar in training and development for female bodybuilders. Without doubt, Dunlap had more muscle mass than even McLish or Elomaa. The following yr saw Cory Everson step into the limelight as she won the NPC Nationals plus, became the 1984 winner of the Ms. Olympia contest. Laura Combes, Rachel McLish, Kike Elomaa, Carla Dunlap and Cory Everson were the early pioneers of women bodybuilding.
